Angus Book Award
Every year third year pupils from Angus secondary schools decide who wins the Angus Book Award.
They vote for their favourite book from a shortlist of four new paperback novels for teenagers written by UK authors.
Each year the reaction of pupils to the announcement of the winner demonstrates that the Angus Book Award has been successful in raising the profile of books, reading and writing. Teenagers clapping, stamping and cheering the choice of a book shows that empowering pupils works.

Angus Council is delighted to welcome a new official sponsor to the Award - Tayside Audio Visual, providers of technical expertise to the Launch and the Ceremony. Together with existing sponsor Micro Librarian Systems, producers of the Eclipse library management software used in Angus secondary schools, D.C. Thomson, producers of local newspaper The Courier and Angus Council's own commitment, the experience of pupils taking part in the Award will be further enhanced.
