Statutory Review of Polling Districts and Polling Places
Section 18(c) of the Representation of the People Act 1983, as amended; places a duty on local authorities to review the UK parliamentary polling districts and polling places in their area during a 16 month compulsory review period commencing on 1 October 2013 and every five years thereafter. The last review was completed in December 2016.
The scope of this review does not cover constituency or local government ward boundaries as these are set by the Boundary Commission for Scotland and not Angus Council.
This review will commence on Monday 28 October 2019 and comments on the Council’s current polling arrangements with suggestions for alternative arrangements are welcomed from all interested parties, including any person or body with expertise in access for persons with any type of disability.
Due to the UK Parliamentary Election being held on Thursday12 December 2019, the date for final proposals being submitted to Angus Council for approval has been delayed until Thursday 6 February 2020 and the publication of the outcome of the Review until Friday 28 February 2020. No other dates in the timetable have changed.
