Exam results are in…

As young people across Scotland receive their exam results today (Tues 8 August), results are showing that the significant progress made in Angus in recent years has been maintained.

We are looking forward to the release of more specific data in September which will highlight all of our school leavers’ achievement.

Our Children and Learning convener, councillor Mark Salmond said: “Early indications from the SQA exam results show that this year has been another really positive one for our children and young people.

“Our pupils should be very proud of themselves – all their hard work has certainly paid off. Praise also goes to our teaching staff, parents and carers who have supported the children over the past year.”

All candidates will receive their results by post today (Tuesday 8 August). Candidates who have activated their MySQA accounts, will also receive their results by text.

Skills Development Scotland’s Exam Results Helpline is open from 8am - 8pm on 8 and 9 August and from 9am -5pm from 10 until 16 August. The number to call is 0808 100 8000. Qualified careers advisers are on hand to help young people who have done better than anticipated or who may not have received the results they were hoping for.

A recent committee report on attainment outcomes for Angus young people in S4 - S6 in 2015-16 showed attainment had been maintained or improved across almost all indicators. Our performance in literacy and numeracy continued to be better than the virtual comparators and national results.
