If you decide to scrap your car, it must be taken to an Authorised Treatment Facility (ATF). These are sometimes referred to as scrapyards or breakers yards.
The ATF will dispose of your vehicle responsibly and safely. It is illegal to scrap your car anywhere else.
You may be able to get money for the scrap value.
There are companies who will take your car to the ATF for you. There are also charitable organisations who will collect your vehicle and donate the money you would have received to a charity of your choice.
