Unwanted garden tools can be reused by others even if they need basic repairs such as sharpening or new shafts.
Charities and reuse organisations often accept garden tools.
Occasionally, local community groups receive donations of hand tools at our recycling centres.
Broken garden tools
These can be disposed of at recycling centres:
- metal tools can go in the scrap metal skip
- wooden shafts and handles can be put in the wood skip
Both skips are available at all recycling centres.
Tools made of a mix of materials must be disposed of as nonrecyclable (general) waste at Arbroath, Forfar or Montrose recycling centres.
