Recycling centres
Mattresses and bed bases are accepted in the nonrecyclable (general) waste skips at Arbroath, Carnoustie, Montrose and Forfar recycling centres.
If you have a wooden bed base it can go in the wood skips at any of our recycling centres.
Remove all fabric, rubber and foam first.
Special uplifts
Beds, mattresses and headboards can be uplifted by the council for a cost.
Charities
Some charity or reuse organisations accept beds.
Mattresses and upholstered bed bases can be left in the British Heart Foundation’s reuse cabin in Arbroath recycling centre.
Items should be in a reusable condition and mattresses must have a fire safety label.
