Community Benefit Gateway: for groups

Angus Council's Community Benefit Gateway - Angus CONECT (Community Outreach for Need, Engagement and Teamwork) - helps council-appointed contractors and suppliers give something back to the community.

How it works

Community groups submit requests for help. These requests then go on a requests list. Suppliers use the requests list to choose the requests they can help with.

Many groups and organisations in Angus have already benefitted. Maybe yours could too? Requests could be for things like:

  • donation of materials: pallets, paint or something else
  • volunteers: for things like litter picking, cleaning or driving
  • specialist skills or expertise from a tradesperson or trained professional
  • sponsorship
  • work experience or apprenticeships
  • services: printing, design or help with a website
  • Something else - we're open to ideas!

Who can apply

You can submit a request if you are an Angus-based community group, organisation, association, social enterprise or charity.

Groups based outside Angus

Organisations based elsewhere in Tayside who benefit people in Angus may also be eligible. If your group fits this description, let us know you are interested by emailing information about your group to communitybenefits@angus.gov.uk.

Submitting a request

If you are eligible, submit a request using our online form.

Take a look at what other groups have requested.

Multiple requests

Your group can have up to three requests on the requests list at a time.

It's best to submit separate requests if you are looking for more than one type of help, even if it’s for the same project. For example, if you are looking for volunteers and materials for an event your group is organising, submit these as two separate requests.

What happens next

Within ten working days of your request being submitted, we'll either add it to the requests list, or contact you if we need more information.

If a contractor feels they could meet your request, they will contact us. We will check that their offer is suitable. If it is, we will put you in touch so that you can work together directly.

After that, we will keep in touch with you and the contractor to monitor progress.

Disclaimer

We cannot guarantee that your request will be fulfilled and Angus Council do not have any influence or power over the uptake of requests. Contractors are responsible for selected requests for delivery .

Unmet requests

If an unmet request was related to a specific date (for example an event or anniversary) we will remove it from the requests list after that date has passed.

If your request has been on the requests list for more than six months and hasn't been matched, we will contact you to confirm that you want it to remain on the requests list. If your request hasn’t been met after a year, we will remove it from the requests list.
