You may be eligible for excess travel expenses for a period of two years if your base location is changed due to circumstances beyond your control, resulting in you incurring additional expenditure in getting to and from work. It will only be paid if the claim is over £5 per week with only the amount over £5 per week, or £1 per day for those working less than full time / a full week (depending on their working pattern), reimbursed. For those using public transport, reimbursement will be based on additional public transport costs on the basis of the most economic fare available.
- Car (excluding lease car): 25p per mile
- Lease car: 10p per mile
- Motorcycle: 14p per mile
- Bicycle: 11p per mile
