Angus Council are inviting third sector organisations to apply for grants to deliver short term projects aimed at supporting adults living in Angus to progress in work.
Funded by the UK Government’s Shared Prosperity Fund (UKSPF), a one-off grant is available to eligible organisations who have the experience and capacity to provide skills and employability support to adults.
Applications must meet one of the following UKSPF People and Skills Priorities:
- Boosting core skills that support adults to progress in work
- Upskill the working population by encouraging innovative approaches to reducing adult learning barriers
- Reducing levels of economic inactivity through investment in bespoke intensive life and employment support
- Improving employment outcomes for specific cohorts who face labour market barriers
- Supporting people furthest from the labour market to overcome barriers to work
- Supporting local areas to fund gaps in local skills provision to support people to progress in work
- Supplement local adult skills provision, both qualifications and non-qualification based
Economic Development spokesperson for Angus Council, Councillor Kenny Braes, said: "This crucial funding will help support economically inactive people in Angus, allowing them to overcome barriers to work through locally tailored support, including access to basic and specialist skills.
“I urge any third sector organisation that has the experience and capacity to provide skills and employability support to explore this funding opportunity, and I look forward to seeing the positive impacts this will have for the people of Angus.”

The closing date for applications is Monday 30 September 2024. All grants must be spent with associated activities delivered by 31 March 2025.
