Following repairs on the A92 Dundee Road, Arbroath, at its junction with Westway (at McDonald’s), our engineers have uncovered a major issue with the culvert running underneath the road.
Temporary repairs have been carried out but further investigations and repairs are needed as a priority, so that this issue does not present a significant danger to traffic in the longer term.
We will close the road from 9am tomorrow (Thursday 17 August) so emergency work can be carried out safely.
The timescale for the completion of the work will not be clear until further investigation has been done and the full extent of the required repairs are known.
We will provide an update when this information is available.
A diversion will be in place up the Westway to Cairnie Road and back to Guthrie Port Roundabout (near Morrisons). We will maintain access for residents on the closed stretch of road.
