Hospitality Rates Relief

As non-domestic rates bills start to be issued from today, we want to highlight the new rates relief that comes into effect from 1 April.

Businesses could receive up to 40% relief from their annual rates bill for the financial year 2025-26.

Hospitality Rates Relief for businesses with a rateable value less than £51,000 and which operate in the following may be eligible:

  • bed and breakfast accommodation
  • camping site
  • caravan
  • caravan site
  • chalet, holiday hut and bothy
  • guest house, hotel and hostel
  • public house or nightclub
  • restaurant (including any café, coffee shop, bistro, fast food restaurant or snack bar that is so used)
  • self-catering holiday accommodation
  • Small music venue
  • timeshare accommodation

If your business is already in receipt of 100% relief, for example, 100% Small Business Bonus, you should not apply for Hospitality relief.

This relief will also be capped at a maximum of £110,000 per ratepayer.
