Drivers who commit a parking offence will see an increased cost in the Penalty Charge Notice (PCN) from Saturday 1 July.
It is the first increase in the PCN in 30 years and is in response to new national guidelines issued by the Scottish Government after consultation with the public and local authorities, and agreement with CoSLA.
Angus Council’s Communities Committee agreed to the increase in PCNs at its meeting on 23 May (Report No 153/23).
Current PCNs parking offences in Angus are set at £60. That reduces to £30 if paid within 14 days or increases to £90 if the penalty is not paid within 56 days.
From 1 July, the PCN for a driver who commits a parking offence will be £100.
That reduces to £50 if paid within 14 days or increases to £150 if it is not paid within 56 days.
