Public Consultation begins for Draft Angus Local Heat & Energy Efficiency Strategy (LHEES) and Delivery Plan

Thursday 20 June 2024

Angus Council are inviting residents, landlords and businesses to have their say on the Draft Angus Local Heat & Energy Efficiency Strategy (LHEES) and Delivery Plan.

The Angus Local Heat and Energy Efficiency Strategy is a long-term strategic framework for:

  • the improvement of the energy efficiency of buildings in Angus, and
  • the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions resulting from the heating of such buildings

The Delivery Plan sets out how Angus Council proposes to support the implementation of our Local Heat & Energy Efficiency Strategy.

Angus Council aim to reduce Fuel Poverty and contribute towards achieving Net Zero emissions by 2045, and their Strategy and Delivery Plan set out how they are going to achieve this.

A survey, open to all residents, landlords, business owners and those who work in Angus, is available from today – Thursday 20 June – until Friday 2 August.

The survey is available on Engage Angus online, where the details of the Draft Angus Local Heat & Energy Efficiency Strategy (LHEES) and Delivery Plan are also available.

The outcome of the public consultation will be reported to a future Angus Council Committee meeting, with feedback informing the final Local Heat & Energy Efficiency Strategy (LHEES) and Delivery Plan. The final strategy document will then allow Angus Council to track progress, allocate funding, identify stakeholders, and engage with them to progress the LHEES delivery.
