Angus offers some fantastic opportunities to enjoy the outdoors, from the coast to the glens, and around our towns.
Everyone has a right to be on most land and inland water for recreation, education or to get from one place to another.
You can do so on foot, in a wheelchair, by bicycle, on horseback or in a boat or canoe. You must do so responsibly, and your rights and responsibilities are explained in the Scottish Outdoor Access Code.
We have created paths and path networks and published a core paths plan to improve outdoor access in Angus.
We will investigate obstructions to access rights and public rights of way. And we have set up a Local Access Forum to advise on access disputes and other access matters.
We can make temporary exemptions from access rights in some circumstances.
