Storm repair works next to the Seafront Splash Playpark at Traill Drive, Montrose, are due to be completed tomorrow (Friday 15 March).
Completion of this concrete work to help protect the promenade and, a tidy up of the area, will allow this section of road to re-open and for public parking to be available again.
Repair work will now begin on the revetment wall near to HM Coastguard building from Monday 18 March. A localised road closure, in front of the coastguard station is needed to carry out this work, which will take about two weeks to complete.
Access to the car parks around the Splash Playpark will be maintained, but there will be no through access past the coastguard building during the work.
The winter storms also resulted in considerable damage to the pedestrian access ramp to the beach, leading to the ramp being barriered off to prohibit access. The ramp is not safe for use and must not be used. Repairs are being planned and updates will follow as soon as dates for this work have been confirmed.
