Purchasing an additional session of ELC

Parents and carers can purchase one additional session of early learning and childcare (ELC) on a term-by-term basis.

Who can apply

These additional sessions are only available to children attending ELC Model 3 (5 x 5 hour sessions up to 228 days per year) at either Carnoustie ELCC or Forfar ELCC.

If your child currently attends ELC Model 1 (6 hours per day up to 190 days) at either of these settings and you would be interested in this opportunity, please email ELC@angus.gov.uk for further information. Should you decide to purchase an additional session of ELC, your child must change from attending ELC Model 1 to ELC Model 3.

The additional session:

• will be five hours

• can be accessed either in the morning or afternoon

• will be on the same day and time each week

• can only be purchased for a full term or the rest of the term if the application received is after the term has started

• costs £30 per week

• fees are paid in advance via ParentPay

• is non-refundable. This means if your child is unable to attend for any reason, a refund will not be given.

When to apply

Applications for the one additional session of ELC should be submitted during the ‘applications open’ period.

We will always try to meet your preference, but additional sessions are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. We cannot guarantee that you will receive your first choice.

If your child is not given your first choice, you will be offered your second choice and so on.

We will repeat the application process to purchase an additional session each term. If your child has attended an additional session in a previous term, you will be given priority to keep the same allocated session for the next term.
