The Arbroath A Place For Everyone project is currently progressing well and is on schedule as we complete week 16 of the 77 weeks of main works traffic management.
Guthrie Port Roundabout work has progressed well and as a result of the early removal of traffic islands the majority of the work should be able to be completed without traffic signals.
We should see a significant reduction in the requirement for traffic signals on Guthrie Port Roundabout, from the expected nine months duration to less than two months. There may however be some side roads closed.
On Monday 29 July 2024, work will commence on the realigned East Grimsby junction. The new junction will be to the south side of the existing junction and work will be carried out to improve parking facilities outside โFriendliesโ takeaway and hard landscaping work.

The first phase of work is to construct the realigned junction in the grass area to the south side of the existing junction. To carry out this work safely and tie into the existing kerb lines, a lane closure will be implemented on the west lane of East Grimsby, creating a one-way street. This will remove access to the A92 from Shore, Ladybridge Street and East Grimsby, with a local diversion via Ladybridge Street, Marketgate, Brothock Bridge and Burnside Drive (A92).
The footpath on the west side of East Grimsby and on the south side of Burnside Drive (A92) will also be closed during this work, with an alternative route via Shore and Fishmarket Quay.

Once the new junction has been constructed offline, traffic will be moved on to the new construction, with a one way street remaining in operation. This will allow us to remove the existing junction, allowing construction of the remaining kerbing and car parking.
The footpath closures will remain in place.
