Community resilience is based on a culture of preparedness, in which individuals, communities and organisations take responsibility to prepare for, respond to and recover from emergencies.
Weather and infrastructure emergencies have and may present challenges across Angus. This fund offers support in the year 2024-25 to communities who could be impacted by flooding but also recognises that other events require community resilience.
Funding aims to support constituted community groups from Angus who have or are in the process of creating resilience plans which will help them respond to emergencies in their local communities.
Communities have been and will be continued to be supported through workshops, one to one support, training on the development and running as a resilience group in their locality.
Led by the Vibrant Communities Angus Communities Development team in partnership with Scottish Flood Forum, and with input from Flood Team Angus Council Roads Dept, this fund will target localities in Angus who have been identified as highly impacted or most vulnerable to emergency events.
Groups are encouraged to apply for the most appropriate fund to meet their needs. The criteria for funding can be found in the documents below. There are two funding streams:
- Community Resilience
- Community Flood Protection Fund
The funding streams were developed though resource allocation from SSEN, Angus Rural Partnership and Angus Council climate activity funding. The fund is administered by Angus Council Vibrant Communities service.
This document is intended to help applicants prepare and submit their applications to the Community resilience fund in 2024-25.
