Work on the Arbroath A Place For Everyone project is continuing at pace and in the coming weeks work will commence at Brothock Bridge, Millgate junction and Catherine Street junction. In addition, there will be two-way traffic lights on the A92 at Queens Drive and traffic will switch from lane 1 to lane 2 between the Harbour and Lordburn junctions. These changes are detailed below:

Two-way temporary traffic lights will be implemented on the A92 between Queenโs Drive East (football ground) and Queens Drive West (Jumping Joeyโs) from Monday 3 February. These lights are required to provide safe working room to complete the tie-in of the new alignment to the existing kerb line.

Remodelling of the public realm space at Brothock Bridge will commence on Monday 3 February. To provide a safe working space, a segregated work area will be established using heras fence, whilst maintaining a two metre wide walking route along the building frontages. Although fencing will be placed on the road, the Brothock Bridge junction will remain operational and no changes to its operation are envisaged.

The reconfiguration of the junction shall be carried out in two phases and a โNo Right Turnโ has been implemented in advance of the works commencing. A footpath closure will also be required as part of the works, with the existing crossing point replaced with a temporary pedestrian crossing and signed pedestrian route.

To provide the required safe working room, access from Catherine Street on to the A92 shall be reduced from two lanes to a single lane, with access from the A92 maintained. Footpath closures will also be required, and an alternative crossing point shall be provided, as well as signed alternative pedestrian routes.
