Applications for 2025-28 panel

The Curators ad Litem and Reporting Officer Panel is a list of appointed professionals from which a Sheriff can select an individual to act as Curator ad Litem and Reporting Officer.

Role of Curators ad Litem and Reporting Officers

Curators ad Litem and Reporting Officers are appointed in cases where the Sheriff requires an independent individual to contact and interview the various relevant associated parties involved in a case and report to the Court.

Appointing the panel

There is a statutory requirement to reappoint a Panel every three years.  

Angus Council is currently updating the membership of the Curators ad Litem and Reporting Officer Panel and looking for applicants to join the list of panel members for the 2025-2028 period.

Who can apply to be on the panel?

Those with the appropriate qualifications can apply. Parties out with the Angus local authority area may apply, as well as those based locally.

Applicants should fall within one of the qualifications categories listed and meet the relevant criteria as stated in the Scheme for Curator ad Litem and Reporting Officers’ Panel.

Remuneration for the post will be provided as per Appendix 2.
