Sheltered and retirement housing

Retirement and sheltered housing is advertised on Angus HomeFinder.

You can choose which properties you would like to be considered for. We use the term ‘bid’ if someone registers that they want to be considered for a particular property.

Before bidding for properties, you must first register on our Common Housing Register by completing an application for housing.

You cannot bid on any properties until the application process is complete and your application is live.

If you have any difficulties in completing the online application form or accessing the advertised properties, contact ACCESSLine or visit a library.

Retirement housing

Retirement housing is for people over 60 years of age who wish to live near others of a similar age. You must be over the age of 60 to bid on these properties.

Sheltered housing

Sheltered housing is for people aged over 60 who have a need for this type of housing. This could be because of age, health or other vulnerabilities.

We no longer assess applicants for sheltered housing, and you can bid on properties without the need for further assessment. Applicants will be considered by date of application only.

Current applicants for sheltered housing who have been assessed will still be considered based on their priority and in accordance with their banding and date of application.

Facilities

We provide sheltered and retirement housing in all major towns and villages in Angus.

Each sheltered and retirement housing complex has a communal lounge. Some also have a communal laundry and guest room.

If you need support with personal care, you should discuss this with your care manager if you have one, or contact us.
