You can find retirement and sheltered housing on Angus HomeFinder.
If you're interested in a property, you need to let us know — this is called "bidding."
How to apply
- First, register on our Common Housing Register by filling out application for housing
- You cannot bid on properties until your application is approved and active.
- If you need help with the online form or finding properties, contact us or visit a library.
Retirement housing
- For people over 60 who want to live near others of a similar age.
- You must be 60 or older to apply for these homes.
Sheltered housing
- For adults of any age who need extra support or a safer living environment because of health or personal reasons.
- These homes are self-contained but often have shared spaces, like a lounge.
- No extra assessment is needed—you can bid directly on properties.
- We will consider factors like your suitability for sheltered housing and the needs of other tenants.
- Applications are processed based on priority level and application date.

- Most locations have a communal lounge, and some also have a laundry and guest room.
- If you need help with personal care, talk to your care manager if you have one or contact us.
