We are looking for volunteers to enable us to continue to provide our offering of work placements. We provide work experience opportunities through The Kings Trust and other Youth Charities who support young people who are disengaged in education and may not have had chances elsewhere.  We provide skill development within work experience placements where young people gain practical, trade skills and learn how to upcycle, reuse and mend items sustain the products lifetime but also enabling their prospects of Jobs/Apprenticeships.

The addition of volunteer’s in any time capacity allows  us to meet our charitable objective and ensure positive opportunities for young people and helping them to achieve brighter futures, with the knowledge of traditional skills they too can pass around their community but also pass down to the younger generation of Forfar, Angus.

We re-use furniture donated by the community, we provide clothes to those who need them,  all the furniture we receive is upcycled  and the sold at low affordable prices to those in need.  We are all volunteers.   We work with foreshore and provide food to various different organisations and those in need.

We rely on donated furniture but also buy in materials to upcycle and then sell at affordable prices to ensure continuation of our Charity. With the rising costs we would be extremely grateful to receive any donations of any listed below or all. 

  • Furniture (Domestic, Commercial, new, old, worn)
  • Paint (any type, colour)
  • Wood/timber pallets
  • Paintbrushes, Painting trays, Dust Sheets.

Looking for our leaflets and business cards to be printed because we  have very little left to give out. Everyone who comes in are interested in our work and potentially donating furniture so this allows us to hand a leaflet and card while we can continue on our services/operations/training. This will also assist in recruiting for volunteers and for donations of materials.

We have measured out a 48ft-long path, which will be 1.2m wide, using 600x600mm square slabs. This path will connect with the existing one at a point that discourages walking on the grass, helping to maintain the grounds.To build this path correctly and ensure long-term durability, the groundwork needs to be properly prepared:

  • The area needs to be dug down to a depth of 150-175mm (6 to 7 inches)
  • 4 inches of compacted Type 1 base stone will be laid and compressed with a wacker plate for stability
  • Slabs will then be placed on a layer of Whin dust, ensuring a level and trip-free surface

Materials Needed:

  • 48x 600x600mm concrete paving slabs

This is one of 3 requests from ATG, these can be picked up individually and completed by 3 different suppliers or to be picked up from supplier for the whole project.

We have measured out a 48ft-long path, which will be 1.2m wide, using 600x600mm square slabs. This path will connect with the existing one at a point that discourages walking on the grass, helping to maintain the grounds. To build this path correctly and ensure long-term durability, the groundwork needs to be properly prepared:

  • The area needs to be dug down to a depth of 150-175mm (6 to 7 inches)
  • 4 inches of compacted Type 1 base stone will be laid and compressed with a wacker plate for stability
  • Slabs will then be placed on a layer of Whin dust, ensuring a level and trip-free surface

Materials needed:

  • 3x bulk bags of Type 1 compacting base stone
  • 1x bulk bag of Whin dust

This is one of 3 requests from ATG, these can be picked up individually and completed by 3 different suppliers or to be picked up from supplier for the whole project.
