Community spaces

Community spaces offer:

  • a welcoming place to spend time with others
  • information about support, advice and useful resources
  • practical support such as wifi and food

These spaces are open to all, and free or low cost to use.

Most community spaces are drop in, so there's no need to book in advance. Contact the community space if you need more information.

Forfar

Community living room

Libraries provide a 'Community Living Room' setting where customers are welcome to visit and stay a while to enjoy a place to sit and access Pressreader for newspapers or Libby if they want to read one of our eBooks, eMagazines and digital audio books. Jigsaws and board games will also be available.

Community spaces

East and Old Church have a heat hub where anyone from the community can come along and feel warm, relaxed and so much more. Daily newspapers will be available to read, games, puzzles, music, TV, hot drinks and some food also, charge your phones and have a chat. Cost - FREE!!! 

East and Old Parish church, 38-40 E High St, Forfar DD8 2EG. Monday to Friday, 9:30am to 12noon until the end of March.

Cricket Café

Fancy a cuppa and a chat with others? Freshly cooked refreshments including scones, soup, paninis. Come along and find out what's in your community.

Soup and sandwich lunch
With tea or coffee and biscuits for £3.00. Wednesdays 11:30am to 1:30pm.

Community breakfast cafe
Grab a cooked breakfast or filled roll. Monday 9.30am to 12.00pm.

Breakfast £4.00 (bacon, sausage, fried egg, beans, toast, tea or coffee). Filled roll (egg, bacon or sausage) £3.00.

Free public wifi. All welcome.

We also have various other events held in the club which people are welcome along to including Veterans Breakfast, Prize Bingo, Fiddle and Accordion and more. For more information check out the Royal British Legion Forfar website


Well Bean Community Café

The Well Bean Café offers a safe alcohol and drug free venue to meet and socialise. Self help and local service information and resources are available within the café. Workshops and activities will also be run with the aim of improving wellbeing.

Volunteering opportunities are available for people in recovery who are keen to provide peer support to others and learn new skills. The Well Bean offers affordable drinks and snacks and is a family friendly venue. All income generated will go back into the café and activities that support wellbeing.
