Roadworks and road closures

Due to essential resurfacing work the A935 will be closed at Arrat Bridge from Thursday 5 December for up to 7 working days.  

The closure will operate between 9am and 4pm Mondays to Fridays.  The road will be open outwith these times and over the weekend (7 - 8 December) and services will operate normally.

During these closures the service 40/40A will not operate beyond Montrose/Midgrip but will operate at the usual times within Montrose.  

Stagecoach will provide a shuttle bus (signed Service 40S) between Montrose and Brechin via A92, A934 and A933 and connect with the service 21A at the Clerk Street heading to Stracathro and Southesk Street opposite Mackie Motors heading back to Montrose. The shuttle will operate at the following times:

Through fares from Stracathro/Edzell will be made available on the 21A to Montrose. These tickets will be valid on the shuttle bus between Brechin and Montrose. All other normal fares and passes will apply on the shuttle bus.

For passengers along the A935 Angus Council will provide a limited shuttle service.  While the shuttle will serve Montrose and Brechin town centres the service will only transport passengers to/from the rural areas. These services will also connect with Service 21/21A for travel to/from Stracathro and Edzell.  The shuttle times are:

On schooldays the service 40 departing Arbroath at 14:41 (Montrose High Street at 15:15) will operate normally. This bus serves Brechin Community Campus at 15:50.
