Stopping lessons

We reserve the right to discontinue lessons under the following circumstances:

  • unsatisfactory progress
  • lack of practice
  • loss of interest
  • lack of response to teaching or instruction
  • regularly forgetting instrument or music
  • poor attendance or non-attendance at four consecutive lessons without good reason
  • learning the instrument is causing the child distress
  • it is in the best interests of the child’s physical/mental wellbeing to stop lessons
  • lessons on the same discipline have been undertaken elsewhere
  • other reasons detailed on correspondence from instrumental music instructor

If applicable, any of the above concerns will be addressed, following consultation with your child; you (the parent/carer); the instrumental teacher and the school.

If you wish to stop your child’s instrumental music lessons:

  • give immediate notice in writing to your child’s instrumental music teacher
  • return your child’s loaned instrument (if applicable)

If lessons have been stopped and a loan instrument not returned, we will invoice you for the cost of a replacement.
