Eagle-eyed visitors to Kirrie Hill will have noticed two new pieces of play equipment installed at Neverland play park – an inclusive roundabout and a wheelchair-accessible swing that will enhance play provision for children and adults of all abilities.

Temporary repairs to the promenade area at Montrose’s Traill Drive are now complete. Significant stretches of the promenade collapsed as a result of tidal damage, high winds and relentless rain during and after Storm Babet, leading to the roads and footpath’s emergency closure.

Our housing recovery team are working hard to get people who were forced out of their homes by Storm Babet into permanent or temporary homes as soon as they can. It’s a massive task that we are trying to make as quick and as straightforward as we can.

Today at a special meeting of Angus Council, members approved proposed changes to kerbside recycling services that aims to save £0.5m per year and sustain Angus’ position as one of the top performing councils in Scotland for recycling.

Our housing team has been contacting tenants whose homes have been affected by flooding in Brechin. This is in advance of gaining access to properties to begin the process of assessing the damage caused.

Arrangements are being made to return a general waste skip to Brechin Recycling Centre from tomorrow (Tuesday 24 October) for a temporary period to support Brechin residents with the disposal of flood damaged materials.

The rest centre at Montrose Sports Centre closed at midday today. The centre at Forfar Community Campus is currently under review. Brechin Community Campus, where demand for a rest centre has been greatest, remains open today and may be stood down tomorrow - but only once alternative accommodation has been found for everyone.
